Ves’tol Command Colony 4-75:
Command Colony Ves'tol is a crucial location in the War for Command due to its abundant reserves of VTL-i, a liquified resource that is used as pure energy for Jump Drive technology. The Command Colony was discovered by the Fists of Command, led by then Commander, now Grand General Tyche of Counter Command, in Cycle 75 ACR.
The extraction of VTL-i from Ves'tol requires navigating a cataclysmic radiation storm, which poses a significant challenge. E-packs at maximum charge are necessary to brace the environmental backlash caused by the storm. However, once inside the radiation storm, VTL-i extraction has been found to calm the storm enough for a safe journey out of it.
Transporting the extracted VTL-i to a refinement station is a delicate process that requires utmost care. Without proper refinement, the liquified resource cannot be used for constructing Jump Drive technology.
Command Colony Ves'tol has been the site of several conflicts between warring factions, with the largest battle causing the VTL Drought in Cycle 139 ACR. The VTL Drought resulted in Ves'tol losing a significant amount of its VTL-i reserves due to a massive fleet falling directly into the radiation storm.
The loss of VTL-i caused a rise in Jump Drive fuel prices, which, in turn, made fuel alternatives more attractive to use. However, all other fuels are less efficient, making Jump Route travel much more challenging, with greater distances between star-systems.
To address the issues plaguing Ves'tol and restore its status as a crucial resource for the Foundation Region, a group of scientists and diplomats have come together to form the United Federation of Ves'tol (UFV). The UFV aims to reestablish Ves'tol as a neutral zone that can benefit all factions in the War for Command.
